Building this portfolio with Next.js and Tailwind CSS was an exercise in balancing speed, polish, and maintainability. Next.js gave the project a solid foundation: file-based routing kept the structure intuitive, and server-side rendering with static generation made pages load fast and index well for search engines, which matters for a site meant to be discovered. Tailwind let me iterate on the design quickly without juggling separate stylesheets, and its utility-first approach pushed me toward a consistent spacing and color system that keeps the interface clean and modern. The main challenge was restraint: with styling this easy, it's tempting to over-design, so I focused on clear typography, responsive layouts that work on any screen size, and letting the projects themselves take center stage. Looking back, the project sharpened my understanding of component-driven architecture and performance-minded front-end development, and it gave me a portfolio that is easy to extend as my work grows.
